Experienced Divers: Converting to BSAC
PADI dive trips are excellent. But you want to go diving all year round.
Don't miss out. Get year-round dive adventure and free training to a higher skill level.
- Wonderful UK marine wildlife - cuttlefish, reefs, seals etc
- Overseas summer holidays
- Buddy pair diving - you're free to explore together, not tied down to a group
- Weekly pool meets for snorkelling, kit testing and octopush
- Free dive training - 1 instructor to 2 students
- Boat handling, navigation and safety courses - club's rigid inflatable boat moves around the South Coast
- Diving down to 50 metres - explore more exotic wrecks
- Social - BBQ, dive shows, curries, erm alcohol
We take on PADI, CMAS and SAA trained divers. We recognise your qualification and won't treat you like a beginner or expect you to train from scratch. There will be some training to cover the differences in the way BSAC and other organisations get trained, but this is fairly minimal.
Your qualification is already roughly equivalent to one of ours.
| PADI Qualification | Approximate equivalent to BSAC | Can start training for |
| Open Water | Ocean Diver | Sports Diver |
| Advanced Open Water | Ocean Diver | Sports Diver |
| Rescue Diver | Sports Diver | Dive Leader |
| Divemaster | Dive Leader | Advanced Diver |
Visit Harrow Sub Aqua Club.
To decide whether you want to join, come along and check us out one Thursday night. You can chat with an instructor about BSAC and what the club does. He will identify what skills you have previously covered in training, what you find easy and what you find trickier.
Provide proof of your training and we will accept you as a club diver. You'll need to attend two in-club lectures - "Introduction to BSAC" and "BSAC '88 decompression tables".
We'll check your skills out in the pool, especially if you are newly-qualfied, have never dived in the UK or haven't dived for a while.
Don't worry if you are a bit rusty. Membership allows you use of the pool any Thursday from 9-10 pm, and we have plenty of instructors who'll be happy to help you to brush up on your skills.
